Huffington Post: James O'Keefe's Newest Target Appears To Be A Small, Progressive Economic Think Tank
-by Sam Stein
October 17, 2011- Among members of Washington D.C.'s think tank community, the Economic Policy Institute (EPI) is known as a den for unbending liberals. The group works to stake out a progressive pole in the national debate. But in the age of President Obama, its influence has been limited. Despite having had an alum in the administration -- Vice President Biden's former chief economist Jared Bernstein -- it has found itself, more often than not, disillusioned with the president's embrace of austerity measures and his willingness to support moderate policies.

October 12, 2011- A group of hacktivists associated with “Anonymous” and the AntiSec movement on Wednesday published the personal information of conservative prankster James O’Keefe online.
Going by the name CabinCr3w, the group announced it had published details relating to his age, home address, probation officer, education, family, and work because he worked with conservative Andrew Breitbart and was trying to belittle the “Occupy Wall Street” protest.
The group noted that O’Keefe now lives with his parents because of parole restrictions and successfully led a campaign to ban Lucky Charms cereal from his school cafeteria because it stereotyped Irish people.
Talking Points Memo: James O'Keefe Spokesman Says Probation Officer Approved His 'Occupy Wall Street' Visit
-by Ryan J. Reilly
October 10, 2011- A thought occurred to us when we saw reports this afternoon that conservative filmmaker James O'Keefe visited the Occupy Wall Street protest in New York City: isn't that dude still on probation?
So we looked into it, and according to court records, a judge never approved his trip across the Hudson River and out of the state of New Jersey, where he lives with his parents. A judge has regularly approved all of his trips since he pleaded guilty to entering U.S. property under false pretenses back in May 2010 and received three years probation.
Remember James O'Keefe's NPR scam? The one where he had some fake "Muslim extremists" take an NPR executive to lunch? To make his "Islamo-fascists" seem more credible, he created a phony website for them; MEAC of America. (Don't worry- we've archived the site in case he suddenly decides to take it down) All right so far- except that on the About page MEAC claims to be a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The problem is, they aren't. Oops.
Perhaps James O'Keefe doesn't think falsely claiming 501(c)(3) status constitutes fraud if it's a non-existent organization cooked up only to trick a legitimate non-profit organization. Perhaps the right court will see this as a grey area...
James O'Keffe's latest prank is yet another violation of his probation and has attracted the attention of Anonymous, who posted the following on Pastebin.Com:
James O'Keefe was at #occupywallstreet on Monday (10 October, 2011), and was very likely there to make trouble for #occupiers.
He even dressed up for us, perhaps in an attempt to blend in with NY elites?
Surely he knew he was there in violation of his probation. We ask that you call his probation officer NOW. Don't rest on this. O'Keefe has been behind other operations in an attempt to fabricate stories on political opponents. source: http://bit.ly/nzAOsw
Here's the contact info for his Probation Officer:
October 10, 2011- The rumors were true: Doltish conservative stuntman James O'Keefe was hanging out at Occupy Wall Street today. No doubt he was dreaming up another hilarious sex imprisonment fantasy prank that proves liberals suck. We've got video.
According Michael, the guy who shot this video, O'Keefe didn't seem to be filming at the time. "He was walking by and a couple of people were just pointing out that he was who he was," Michael told us over the phone a short time ago. "He was trying to be completely not in anyone's way, not to bring too much attention to himself." Whoops, sorry James.
